Andrew Murray writes: In that holy moment when our Lord shed His blood in death, and it seemed as if Satan were victorious, the Adversary was robbed of the authority he had possessed until then. - The Power of the Blood of Jesus.
Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 1 Samuel 31:1B
Whatever type of leverage the enemy uses to try and manipulate and control becomes the very doom that falls upon them.
They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah. Psalm 57:6.
There is another principal here that is very important to understand.
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. Proverbs 24:17,18.
If you recall in the story of Saul and David, David weeped and mourned when he heard news that Saul was slain.
David had refused twice to retaliate against Saul when the Lord delivered him into his hand. David must have understood what Paul said in Ephesians 6:13, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Perhaps we won't rejoice when an enemy falls if were to,"rejoice that are names are enrolled in heaven." The enemy's fall is permanent. There is no way out of the pit that is reserved for those who reject Jesus Christ. It's a permanent prison for them.
Paul was imprisoned for preaching the gospel but he put an interesting spin on it. He said,"But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which have happened to unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; Philippians 1:12. He used his time in prison to share Jesus with those who were really imprisoned.
There is more than just forgiveness in the blood of Jesus. There is victory in the blood of Jesus! Listen to the words of Revelation. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11.
